Nice portrait. he first seems a bit too contrasty.

We're in agreement on that to a point, but I think it might have been
enough to just bring the eye area up a bit in both photos. But I'm
once again looking on the wrong monitor for this sort of thing. All 3
of us might be seeing something different.

Just curious - why are the file sizes about double what I'd expect for
that camera?


Why are you surprised? What sort of RAW file size did you expect for the X-E2?
Remember file size will vary according content.


All of my raw files with all of my cameras tend to be about the same
as the sensor size. I don't expect exact, but yours are double.
