KB/s. Exceedingly slow. Shows the same data rate whether plugged into a
USB
3 slot or USB 2 slot.

if they're slow without the caddy, then they could be failing.

Unfortunately, I'll have to mount them in computer to see, which the caddy was to allow me to avoid.

use an external usb dock to test (or usb enclosure but that usually
requires tools).
