‘Duck comments:

I can only say I was pleasantly surprised by this batch.

Savageduck (yours truly):
Furniture-01:
Bench in the Paso Robles city park.
Furniture-02:
Benches in the shade outside the Paso Robles library.
Furniture-03:
Outdoor seating at a Paso Robles eatery. Note the “Elvis” mannequin
visible through the window.

Tony Cooper:
I like the idea that you thought out of the box for this mandate. Each
of these has their charm. Nice!

KPet
Furniture-01:
An interesting yard refuge. Perhaps the crop on the top and bottom of
the chair was a little tight.
Furniture-02:
Nice shot of the weathered swing. The shadows provide a pleasing
contrast, and the composition just works.

PhotoPhartz:
Furniture-01:
Shelving is furniture. An interesting combination, Zappa albums, violin
(I guess Zappa did some work with Jean Luc Ponty), and Swift. Nice work.
Furniture-02:
Well you don’t see too many console radios around these days. I’d have
guessed that this was an archive shot which solidly dates you. However,
I see it was shot with your SX500 in May. That raises the question; who
has this living room museum piece to photograph?
Furniture-03:
I love your workstation! It is wonderfully cluttered, and most
importantly, I see you favor the thumb controlled trackball. That is my
preferred input device, currently the defunct MS Trackball Optical + a
spare.

Bowser:
Furniture-01:
Heavy machinery furniture? I like the battered, very used look to the ladder.
Furniture-02:
I think this shot would have worked much better if the entire church
were in the frame to provide a full context to the bench.
Furniture-03:
The wicker swing and lemonade stand are quite nice, except somebody
should have ripped that tag off the cushion.

Pablo:
Furniture-01:
Nice shot. I like the deep shadows, and tight crop along with the
bright warmth of the wood along with the green leather. Good work.
Furniture-02:
I suspect this might be fireplace furniture, but this shot doesn’t work
for me, it might be the odd crop, or the vagueness of the subject.
Furniture-03:
Here trying the same idea as in your first shot doesn’t really work for
me. The contrasting shadow and chair arm are there, but the chair
doesn’t have the character of #1, and the rug/shawl or whatever is just
too ratty and out of place.

Sandman:
Furniture-01:
Nice, warm, wood grain for the stool. The room lighting provides an
interesting vignette.
I hope to see more of your work in future.

Peter Newman:
Furniture-01:
ISO 200!! What happened?
I like the solitary bench with its contemplative outlook over the beach. Nice
Furniture-02:
Another shot I like. The row of chairs overlooking the harbor work
nicely. Good B&W rendition. However, Monhegan chairs? I have always
thought of that type of chair as an “Adirondack chair”.
Furniture-03:
Another great capture and very appropriate B&W conversion. Tony Cooper
should love this shot.

Otter:
Furniture-01:
Nice bench and landscape. It might have been more interesting to have
the context what the bench was facing.

Thanks to those who played, and welcome aboard to PhotoPhartz & Sandman.
