Canon - 5fps (big plus), stellar reputation from what I have read on
this group and other reviews.

However, the scales are in the K10D's favour right now. As far as IS
goes, I don't really see the need for it, but then again I've never used
it, other than perhaps eliminating the need for a tripod on those
borderline 1/30th shots etc.?

The only person I know that has used IS has a K100 and he says that if
he tries to shoot without it the results are usually less than stellar,
but he is not a serious photographer and I have no idea what conditions
or settings he was using.
