Default OT: Drone lights for flying (not indicator lights)

I don't violate regulations. Nobody needs a sermon on violating
regulations.

I know how much my drone weighs. The claim adding an LED will make it
weigh more than the registration limit is nonsense.

Seems odd but I see no YouTube videos on the subject of adding lights for
FLYING, please feel free to refer me.

My drone (DJI Mini 2) has a "Downward Vision System and Infrared Sensing
System" that keeps the aircraft stable above the ground when not being
user controlled, but it fails at nighttime because it can't see the
ground, so I want to add an LED.

Since you are talking about the DJI Mini 2 the first thing you need to
consider is the addition of almost anything will push its weight over the 249g
limit for FAA registration, or other regulation limitations in other
countries.

The camera on the Mini 2 with its small sensor has terrible low light
performance, for that you would be better off with one of the 1" sensor drones
such as the Mavic 2Pro, the Air 2S, or the Autel Evo II Pro.

The DJI Air 2, & Air 2S both have a bottom/downward facing LED light to aid in
low light landing. Other drones have different add-on lighting systems for
camera assistance, and/or area lighting. Most of those are commercial, or
enterprise drones such as the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise which has a starting
price over $6,000.

Then you are still faced with legal, and FAA regulations regarding nighttime
flight and daylight waivers. Then you are still required to add strobe
lighting such as the LumeCube, or FireHouse which must be visible up to 3
nautical miles.

Its sensing system is accurate up to 10 m and operational up to 30 m above
the ground.

Apparently the sensors' side to side vision is 56¶ø with forward to
backward vision at 71¶ø. So I guess the maximum LED angle needed is about
71¶ø.

Any specific LED suggestions? EBay might be better than Amazon for that
particular item.

The only add-on LED system I know of is the one offered by PGYTech for the Air
2/Air 2S as part of a leg extension kit, and that is a pointless waste of
money.

Without knowing the part numbers and their data, maybe the sensors' Kelvin
is typical sunlight. Its camera allows adjusting the Kelvin sensitivity. I
guess that means the FPV view can be adjusted to match the Kelvin of an
LED headlight added to it (not concerned about that now, but maybe later).

With the DJI Mini 2 you are beating a dead horse. If you want, or need to
pursue low light or night time drone photography up grade to a more capable
drone, study and follow the FAA , or other jurisdiction rules/regulations, and
get yourself FAA Part 107 certified with the appropriate daylight waivers.
