We get an assortment of scavengers...raccoons, 'possums, groundhogs etc
and also the human variety.

The humans go after scrap metal and electronic scrap.

I guess one of my friends talked to one of those "pickup truck" guys
and they said they could get about $50 a truckload. I don't know how
much they spend on gas but it must be worth it.


Anyway my wife just ran off the first few test prints and they are damn
well perfect. The printed image looked even better than what the
monitor showed...so instead of tweaking the printer settings, she
tweaked the monitor just a tad.

Great!
It might be worth investing in a calibration device for your
monitor/display at some stage.

One color and one B&W

The B&W was better than the old R1800 and not even a trace of color tinge.

Thanks a million for the great advice and now my wife can get back to work...

I know you work in B&W, I am not aware of the type of color work your
wife does, but for a startling effect and final product in color,
consider trying some papers other than the very good Epson papers.

For anybody doing color work, where a print that stands out from the
crowd is wanted, I highly recommend Red River Papers, Polar Pearl
Metallic, and/or Ilford Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl and Galerie
Prestige Metallic Gloss (I haven't tried any of Ilford's other papers)
Both companies have printer/paper icc profiles available for download.

BTW:

Red River has an 8"x11.5" sample pack of all of their papers.

While we are at it, we cleaned up her desk too and made the layour less
cluttered.

Without clutter I am lost.
