SilverFast and Epson V700

I bought an Epson V700 Photo flatbed scanner, and with it came a
SilverFast SE disk. How does this compare with other photo editing
software? I mostly use Nikon CaptureNX2 and sometimes PhotoShop...

flatbed scanner advice

I need a scanner primarily for old photos, but also for general

scanner IT8 with Capture NX2

I am using NS4 to scan with my Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED and
processing the results with Capture NX2. Is there a way to
use an IT8 to get the scanner profile information into the
process?
