10D Still Going Strong!

Who needs a stinking 5D?

Okay, well I guess I do, when the price comes down a little . . .

In the meantime, the 10D still has the pixel pitch that hummers love.

These are attractive images...but the first two look like they've had severe
sharpening applied to the head/neck area...to the point of making it look
somewhat like a drawing or painting.

What gives?

There are many more superb shots on Eric Miller's site, including
these gems:

http://www.dyesscreek.com/hidden_pages/072305.htm

Plus nature shooters will find it well worth reading the excellent
tutorials on the following page (some beautiful images too!):

http://www.dyesscreek.com/hphoto/index.htm

To the OP: You really should upgrade to a Canon EOS 1Ds MkII because
your ability easily justifies a better camera than the 10D. You would
find it relatively easy to sell 16.7 MP images for publication,
whereas a 6 MP image is now getting quite difficult to sell.

The Canon EOS 5D would be a significant step up from the 10D but in a
competitive world you might still lose out on sales to 1Ds MkII users.

A complete how to, beautifully illustrated. Many thanks, Eric; I've
wondered about many of the points you make, and I did notice a hummer
just the other day....

Good luck with your Mark whatever, or 5D, but you clearly show for this
type of shot you can do perfectly well with what you have. Except for
the photo editors who want more pixels, more pixels!

And thanks to Tony for the follow up, which I would have missed.
