Monopod (tripod) head
I'm looking for a simple monopod (or tripod) head with a quick camera
release. The only real action I'd like the head to perfom is a quick flip to vertical from the normal horizontal position. Any recommendations? Thanks! Steve . . . |
Monopod (tripod) head
Not a quick release but because of the nature of a monopod and easy
handling, I get along great with a Bogen 3025 head for this duty. Compared to a tripod and head, it seems quite fast to hold everything in relative alignment and quickly screw the camera to the head. The head has simple wing screws that are fast for flipping, too. For monopod duty, this lightweight head seems robust enough for use even my P67 (up to 200mm) when using faster films for action work. Not exactly what you were asking for but it makes for a very low cost and versatile solution. I use quick release heads on a couple of my tripods and I really appreciate the ease of use in that application but don't really miss it on the monopod with my equipment and uses. get one of those bracket plates that are L shaped with a clip part on the bottom and side of the camera, so you can release and change from vert to horz, this will let you skip the weight of a head on top of your pod. Any recommendations? My solution to this problem was to add a smallish ballhead onto my monopod, plus a QR adaptor that uses the same QR plates as my Bogen 3030 tripod head (rectangular.)
