Why don't camera reviews cover the data connection to the PC?

Calling this Casio-proprietary port USB or USB/AV (when it comes with both
USB and AV cables) is wrong.

Casio should have called it "Proprietary USB/AV" or "Casio port" or
whatever that port is officially called.

BTW, does anyone know what the official name of the Casio proprietary
camera port is called?

explained.

Nope. It is a standard USB port even though the connector is
non-standard. The supplied cable works with any standard USB connector.

To make you happy? Would you have been happier if the cable were
permanently connected to the camera, eliminating the connector you don't
like?

USB/AV Connector, just as it says.
