So the proposed Fujifilm IBIS camera will probably be the X-H1 not an X-T2S. If that proves to be true, then the designation X-T2S label could be given to an intermediate X-T(x) fitting in between the X-T2, and a future X-T3, much as the X-E2S came between the X-E2 and the new X-E3. As with the X-E3, I see a future X-T3 getting the Touch LCD treatment. I also suspect that the proposed IBIS X-H1 is going to be optimized for video to separate it from the X-Pro2, X-T2, and X-E3. As far as IBIS goes my two Fujinon lenses which would benefit have OIS, my wide primes are fast enough that they do not really need IBIS. With my wide primes the only time IBIS might be beneficial, would be in extreme low light and slow SS. For now I will live with my X-T2, and consider an X-E3 to replace my X-E2 as a second body. As for the X-E2 I am considering making that a dedicated B&W shooter. -- Regards, Savageduck |

Do you mean a conversion, or that you would only use it for B&W. Maybe my mind is channeled, because I am going to have my D300 converted to infrared, and am thinking of a UV conversion. -- PeterN |

However, the only company currently doing B&W conversions is only doing them to Fujifilm X-Pro1 bodies (that is among the Fujifilm bodies). So for now I will just be using it for in-camera B&W. These guys also do IR conversions along with their monochrome conversions, but the Fujifilm in-camera B&W is pretty good. https://www.maxmax.com https://petapixel.com/2017/02/17/fuj...-4800-cheaper- leicas/ -- Regards, Savageduck |

I also have some old Nikkor E lenses, that will transmit in the 350 -400 range if I remove the coating, because they have very few elements. Old lenses and old digital cameras did not have all that much UV blocking. While it will not be perfect, and I expect a lot of distortion, The combo should be fine for photographic purposes. It is definitely not perfect. If I want more, I can always get quartz/fluoride lenses. -- PeterN |

For my last conversion, I simply pulled out the IR filter. But, that was on a P&S, that I otherwise would just sit in a box. This time around, I am looking for faux color IR. But why are you converting for BW only? -- PeterN |

For my last conversion, I simply pulled out the IR filter. But, that was on a P&S, that I otherwise would just sit in a box. This time around, I am looking for faux color IR. But why are you converting for BW only? For now I am not converting a camera to B&W only. I am just choosing to use what is my extra body, the X-E2, as a dedicated B&W shooter using the Fujifilm in-camera emulations. I will still have the option to use it for color. The B&W converted cameras, like the Leica monochrome, have the sensor modified by removal of the ICF/AA filter stack, standard sensor cover glass, microlenses, and CFA (Color Filter Array). A special sensor cover glass is added. This gives you a camera which is not dependant on color content, and B&W results which are sharper with finer micro-contrast. Thus the B&W results from a converted camera are going to be much better than B&W conversions from color RAW. Having said all of that, I have other things to spend my disposable income on right now. -- Regards, Savageduck |
