Any expectations on Canon's new (yet to be released) PowerShot SX30 IS?

You have an SX30 IS - not the SX130 IS? Where is it available because I'm
curious?

It's already been released,
I got one,
and expect to be able to obtain an instruction manual soon.
Some of the features are slightly familiar
but the menu sequence to employ them isn't.

Definitely the Canon SX30IS is better, i'll list the reasons:
-Much more zoom
-Significantly wider aperture
-Significantly better wide angle
-Has a flip-out screen
-Supports an external flash
-Has a viewfinder
-Better macro capability
-Faster max shutter speed.

As with the near-identical SX20, anyone used to handling a budget DSLR will find the SX30 IS reasonably easy to use, sharing many familiarities in its control layout. Anyone upgrading from a point-and-shoot compact will be faced with an initial learning curve, but once you've got used to the operational quirks you'll soon be confidently shooting candids and close ups thanks to the creative flexibility that the amazing long lens affords.
