I can only say I was pleasantly surprised by this batch.

Savageduck (yours truly):
Furniture-01:
Bench in the Paso Robles city park.
Furniture-02:
Benches in the shade outside the Paso Robles library.
Furniture-03:
Outdoor seating at a Paso Robles eatery. Note the “Elvis” mannequin
visible through the window.

Tony Cooper:
I like the idea that you thought out of the box for this mandate. Each
of these has their charm. Nice!

KPet
Furniture-01:
An interesting yard refuge. Perhaps the crop on the top and bottom of
the chair was a little tight.
Furniture-02:
Nice shot of the weathered swing. The shadows provide a pleasing
contrast, and the composition just works.

PhotoPhartz:
Furniture-01:
Shelving is furniture. An interesting combination, Zappa albums, violin
(I guess Zappa did some work with Jean Luc Ponty), and Swift. Nice work.
Furniture-02:
Well you don’t see too many console radios around these days. I’d have
guessed that this was an archive shot which solidly dates you. However,
I see it was shot with your SX500 in May. That raises the question; who
has this living room museum piece to photograph?
Furniture-03:
I love your workstation! It is wonderfully cluttered, and most
importantly, I see you favor the thumb controlled trackball. That is my
preferred input device, currently the defunct MS Trackball Optical + a
spare.

Bowser:
Furniture-01:
Heavy machinery furniture? I like the battered, very used look to the ladder.
Furniture-02:
I think this shot would have worked much better if the entire church
were in the frame to provide a full context to the bench.
Furniture-03:
The wicker swing and lemonade stand are quite nice, except somebody
should have ripped that tag off the cushion.

Pablo:
Furniture-01:
Nice shot. I like the deep shadows, and tight crop along with the
bright warmth of the wood along with the green leather. Good work.
Furniture-02:
I suspect this might be fireplace furniture, but this shot doesn’t work
for me, it might be the odd crop, or the vagueness of the subject.
Furniture-03:
Here trying the same idea as in your first shot doesn’t really work for
me. The contrasting shadow and chair arm are there, but the chair
doesn’t have the character of #1, and the rug/shawl or whatever is just
too ratty and out of place.

Sandman:
Furniture-01:
Nice, warm, wood grain for the stool. The room lighting provides an
interesting vignette.
I hope to see more of your work in future.

Peter Newman:
Furniture-01:
ISO 200!! What happened?
I like the solitary bench with its contemplative outlook over the beach. Nice
Furniture-02:
Another shot I like. The row of chairs overlooking the harbor work
nicely. Good B&W rendition. However, Monhegan chairs? I have always
thought of that type of chair as an “Adirondack chair”.
Furniture-03:
Another great capture and very appropriate B&W conversion. Tony Cooper
should love this shot.

Otter:
Furniture-01:
Nice bench and landscape. It might have been more interesting to have
the context what the bench was facing.

Thanks to those who played, and welcome aboard to PhotoPhartz & Sandman.

Yep, I think JL Ponty did do a stint in Zappa's band. Thanks.

I'm a long time tenant in a very old friend's house and this relic is right
downstairs in the family room. It's been here longer than I have but I
expect it was deposited by my housemate's father who's been quite a
scavenger/collector during his advancing years.

Hehe, thanks. Just this week the ol' Logitech trackman was retired. It
was old enough (at least 10~12 years?)to still be plugged in to a PS2 port
but its scroll wheel was losing it. Replaced by a Kensington Expert
trackball that is really the stuff. Great big, heavy, smooth ball. Easy
to use scroll ring around the ball. Four programmable buttons giving you
six different commands under the finger tips. Lusted after one for years
but the Marble just kept working.

On top of working with Zappa, J-L Ponty also did his own interpretation
of "King Kong". His versions of "King Kong", "How Would You Like to
Have a Head Like That?" and "Music for Electric Violin and Low Budget
Orchestra" are simply amazing.

I also have an old Logitech trackman which had to use an Apple Data Bus
(ADB) adaptor to hook up to my old Mac (No USB back then). I had one of
the Kensington Trackball Pros which connected via ADB, but I am far
more comfortable using my thumb rather than my finger tips on the big
ball.
The discontinued MS Trackball Optical also has four programmable
buttons and I bought two at the same time, which was a good thing as I
see they are selling used for over $100 now. When I saw that, I did
some shopping and picked up a Logitech Trackman II Wheel as a third
spare.

We have a ~1958 Grundig console that must be twice the width of the one
in your photo. It was a marvel at the time, just before stereo but with
justifiable Hi-Fi pretensions including a sort of sound contour shaper.
All tubes, all replaced about twenty years ago, and still worked a
little, last time I tried it. And about seven bands of radio reception,
a phonograph player, and a disc storage compartment with a light that
didn't go off when the door was close, so it put a dip in the edge of a
couple of vinyl albums. We put a late 1960s receiver/tuner (wired to
external speakers) in the storage part. Arrangement works good.
Nice-looking piece of furniture I should have photo'd for the mandate.
Never mind.

I use the MS Trackball Explorer. Lots of buttons and whistles, PS2 and
USB compatible. I decided it was a good appliance, so ordered a backup
from Amazon, and they sent a case of five or six. I gave one away, have
two or three still in the box, and the others are relatively unused on
computers around the house. They seem to be a cult item, expensive used,
out-of-sight new. I don't consider anything else to be particularly
useful. Haven't tried a recent whatchamacallit pad. Graphics pad? Twenty
years ago the one I had a go at didn't work as well as a mouse.

Even farther OT: Odd thing, maybe? I mouse left, trackball right, write,
bat and throw right. Strange?

I suppose the bench facing away from the view is a little distracting,
but this was the best view from that location. It's not a "great"
shot in my opinion, just one that I had that fit the furniture
mandate. As far as golf bench shots, I'm still partial to this one:

I need to go back and revisit the post-processing on that one.

I thought so too. But Monhegan Island, ME, is technically part of the
Adirondacks. If I could physically, I would spend months in that place.

I saw him at some outdoor venue on a summer night back in the day too.
Might have seen him another time as well but, you know, things can be so
hazy from that far back. I had a few of his records too though they no
longer seem to be in what's left of the collection. I'm not familiar with
the ones the Duck sited.

I write right, shoot pool, bowl, shoot, eat, and throw left. I can
strike out with a bat, left or right. Hit a golf ball right, and putt
left. Not strange at all. As a kid I was forced to write with my right
hand. the result, I hated my teacher, and have a lousy handwriting.
