how you guys scan 120 format?
 

CoolScan 8000ED or 9000ED is so expensive, and flatbed is not my
prefer though some flatbeds might be considered as good on 120 but are
more than likely not so good on 35mm which is the format i also need.

i dont't know where to go .....

The better 4800 ppi flatbed scanners will make a decent 6x enlargement from
6x6, and the new Epson V700 and V750 should do even better. That means up to
13x13 prints on your 13x19 printer. Which ain't too shabby. The Nikon 9000
will probably make a better 13x19 from 6x6 than the Epson V750 would.

You are, of course, correct that the flatbed won't be very good for 35mm, so
you'll need both a Nikon V + a flatbed. Which is getting to be almost as
much money as a Nikon 9000, so the 9000 might be worthwhile after all.

I use a Leafscan which does 35mm up to 4x5".

I'm using a 2001 vintage LS-8000.
Can be had for under $1K on ebay.

Epson 4990/700/750 will get you
2/3 or 3/4 of the way there, in terms
of real resolution.

Probably the best scenario if one wants the whole range of formats that
one typically shoots. 35-8x10.

Epson V700. One of the few flatbed scanners that I've used that even
produces acceptable 35mm scans.

Here's a scan from a 6x7 Fuji Provia frame at 1600dpi, resized down to
1024x832, about 1/16 the size of the original 14.9Mpx scan. Looking
at the original scan at 100% enlargement, you can read the lettering
on the bow of the ship in the far background. 3200dpi's very clean,
and produces excellent large prints from a 56+Mpx scan.

The included EpsonScan software is good, though the bundled Lasersoft
Silverfast SE software is better.

Film flatness is good, the holders have three height adjustments for
"fine focusing", and the holders grip the film edges nice and tightly.
The light source for film scanning is a separate cold-cathode tube
that travels the length of the lid opposite the optical pickup.

a) Don't have one here at work. You'll have to wait another 5-6 hours
for that.

b) Sorry - forgot I had original size viewing turned off for guests.
Just changed that. Unfortunately, Flickr's the only place I've got
that frame online at this point.

Found an older copy of the file on my laptop that was slightly
over-USM'd, but I made some quickie conversions anyway and uploaded
them to my own server.
