I'm wondering what DJI would have charged to build NASA an equivalent drone?

Which could survive the journey in space aqnd then fly in the Martian
atmosphere? I think they would run away.

If it's a cost plus program, then no need to run.

It was a joint JPL / AeroVironment (who make all manner of drones from
tiny to big) / NASA Ames / NASA Langley project.

A Chinese co. would not likely be invited to bid on such a project in
any case.
